You Got Your 200-Hour Certification, Now What?
Congratulations on completing your 200-hour yoga teacher certification!
This is not only a time to celebrate all of the hard work you put into achieving something special, but it’s also a time to embrace a new path. Here are some tips to stay connected to your practice, and to also help you navigate the business of yoga:
Continue Learning: A 200-hour certification is such a strong foundation! Now, think about further education like advanced training programs, workshops, or certifications in areas that spark your interest.
Practice! Take the time to build your skillset as a teacher by actually teaching. Find friends and family to teach classes to and think about starting a donation-based class to get used to talking in public and seeing different bodies in action. Think outside the box and reach out to cafes, boutiques, and old colleagues.
Take Classes at Studios: Remember, you need to keep practicing! It’s important to take classes and see how other teachers manage the room. Also, if you want to teach at a studio, make sure you take classes with the owner and with other teachers who work there. Then, you can start the conversation about how to get on their sub list. Good luck!
Take Up Space Online: Register with Yoga Alliance if you can and make a profile. Create business accounts across all social media platforms. Build out your website and start to collect emails for your mailing list. Create a profile on Google My Business. Create your LinkedIn profile! These are all ways to get found in the digital world.
Remember Self Care: You need to take care of YOU before you can take care of anyone else! Remember to keep doing what you love, make space to nourish yourself, and stay connected to what your mind and body need to feel best!
Teaching yoga is such a gift! Congratulations again on becoming certified to teach and remember, the learning never ends! This is what makes is so beautiful!
